Three American students detained in Egypt.

I saw this on my local news channel this afternoon. The kid in the video goes to Drexel University in  Philly. He went to Egypt (University of Cairo) to further his studies. Now he's locked up in Egypt (see video) and Lord knows what will happen to him.
What parent in their right mind would allow their child (children, because there are 3 detained American students) to enter a war zone to further their education?
And not only that, they were picked up with water bottles full of gasoline.
Children that are legal adults now that they have hit college level education get to make these outrageous life changing decisions. Amazing. What kind of education involves getting involved in foreign political affairs like that?
This upset me so much.
